Solidarity that nourishes thousands of lives every day.
Born in the aftermath of the Beirut explosions, in the Karantina district, La Cuisine de Mariam has become a major player in food aid in Lebanon.
Led and co-founded by Hani Tawk, a Maronite Christian priest, and his wife Dounia, with the expertise of Chef Élie Tawk, this organization prepares around 5,000 hot meals every day for people in need, without any distinction.
Each day, around 100 people also come on site to share a meal in a welcoming space where solidarity, dignity, and human warmth come togeth
After the meal distributions, the teams continue their efforts by preparing around 1,000 additional sandwiches, to meet ongoing needs throughout the day.
La Cuisine de Mariam also operates a mobile food truck, enabling meals to be delivered directly to vulnerable populations, wherever needs are most urgent.
Thanks to the major support of the CMA CGM Foundation, the backing of Mon Liban d’Azur
, and the ongoing commitment of many partners, this humanitarian action is carried out with efficiency and consistency.
Staff members, volunteers, and supporters join forces around a shared mission: to feed, to relieve, and to preserve human dignity.
Meals are prepared using local ingredients and Lebanese terroir, also contributing to the support of the local economy.
In a Lebanon under strain, La Cuisine de Mariam offers far more than a meal every day: a presence, dignity, and tangible hope.
5,000 hot meals. 1,000 sandwiches. 100 people welcomed on site. One mobile unit in the field. Every day, humanity in action.
