James Beard

The James Beard Foundation, a U.S.-based non-profit organization, was created in 1986 in honor of the famous chef and food writer of the same name. Its mission is to promote American gastronomy, culinary education, and to advocate for food rooted in talent, equity and sustainability. Every year, the organization presents the James Beard Awards, often dubbed the “Oscars of gastronomy”. This prestigious U.S. title recognizes talent in the food industry, as well as their commitment to racial and gender equity, community and sustainability.
