FoodCycle is a community dining charity that brings people together to share nourishing meals and conversation – tackling food insecurity, loneliness, and food waste. Each week volunteers across the country take part in a ‘Ready Steady Cook’ style challenge, transforming surplus ingredients that would otherwise go to waste into three-course vegetarian meals, served free to anyone who wants them. FoodCycle has been nourishing communities in this way since 2009 – serving 162,991 meals and saving 320 tonnes of surplus food in 2024 alone.
