“Good for taste, good for health, good for the planet”. This is the mantra of Sărbătoarea Gustului, a Romanian association founded in 2015 and committed to promoting healthy, diversified and environmentally-friendly food. Its main mission is to educate younger generations (and their parents) in the values of taste and raise awareness of the ecological issues involved in food consumption. Supported by the Romanian Ministry of Education and the Auchan Foundation, Sărbătoarea Gustului has set up educational programs, which will reach over 185,000 pupils in 2024-2025, notably through the distribution of an educational brochure. The “Taste Lessons”, delivered directly to classrooms by chef Daniel Dobre, president of the association, will promote excellence in the culinary profession and action against food waste. Sărbătoarea Gustului has also made available to the libraries of over 6,000 schools the book “L’Art de bien manger bio” by Chef Alain Alexanian, which offers concrete advice on what healthy cooking entails, both in terms of food and preparation methods. As Alain Alexanian, a supporter of the association, explains: “We are the first generation to know the impact of our food choices, and the last to be able to act.
