Les Cahutes de Louise (Louise’s huts)

Les Cahutes de Louise is a French non-profit organization offering respite stays for children living with chronic illnesses and their families in mobile micro-homes set within exceptional locations. Born from the story of Louise, who passed away at the age of 14 after an eleven-year battle with leukemia, the association creates peaceful escapes where illness gives way to rest, family connection, and moments of joy.

Camille Verduzier, Louise’s mother and an architect, designs the eco-friendly cabins, which are handcrafted in France. Installed in remarkable natural and heritage sites such as the Domaine national de Chambord, Chenonceau, and Fontainebleau, these stays allow families to reconnect, create happy memories, and find relief from the daily reality of treatments and hospital care.

Beyond accommodation, the organization has built a true ecosystem of solidarity involving pediatric hospitals, local associations, producers, and dedicated volunteers. Through this deeply human initiative, Les Cahutes de Louise promotes the idea that respite, nature, and shared experiences are essential for children facing illness and for their loved ones.
