Association

Les Cahutes de Louise (Louise’s huts)

Les Cahutes de Louise is a French non-profit organization offering respite stays for children living with chronic illnesses and their families in mobile micro-homes set within exceptional locations. Born from the story of Louise, who passed away at the age of 14 after an eleven-year battle with leukemia, the association creates peaceful escapes where illness gives way to rest, family connection, and moments of joy.

Camille Verduzier, Louise’s mother and an architect, designs the cabins with an ecological approach. Handcrafted in France, they welcome families in remarkable natural and heritage settings such as the Domaine national de Chambord, Palace of Versailles, Vaux-le-Vicomte, and Palace of Fontainebleau. These stays allow families to reconnect, create joyful memories, and catch their breath amid the daily reality of treatments and hospitalizations.

Beyond accommodation, the organization builds a true ecosystem of solidarity involving pediatric hospitals, local associations, producers, and dedicated volunteers. Through this deeply human initiative, Les Cahutes de Louise advocates the idea that respite, nature, and culture are essential parts of the journey for sick children and their loved ones.
