Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver is one of the best-known British chefs worldwide, famous for his simple, friendly, and accessible cuisine. Born in 1975 in Essex, he discovered the world of restaurants early on in his parents’ pub before studying at Westminster Catering College. Revealed by the TV show The Naked Chef in 1999, he quickly became an international media figure and the author of many best-selling cookbooks.

Beyond television and his restaurants, Jamie Oliver is strongly committed to healthier, more sustainable eating. With the Fifteen restaurant-school, he has enabled underprivileged young people to learn the restaurant trade. His Food Revolution movement has raised awareness among millions of people worldwide of the importance of better food education and the fight against junk food.

He is also deeply committed to the cause of dyslexia. In partnership with the British Dyslexia Association, he launched the campaign Jamie’s Dyslexia Revolution in June 2025. The goal is to improve the detection and support of dyslexic children. Being dyslexic himself, Jamie Oliver uses his public profile to highlight the shortcomings of the British education system and call for better support. The campaign features a voice petition on Spotify, gives a platform to children and teachers, and calls for reform, including early screening, teacher training, and greater school inclusion.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is a UK charity founded in 1972, dedicated to advocating for, supporting, and empowering people with dyslexia. Its mission is to ensure that dyslexia is better understood and properly addressed in education, the workplace, and society as a whole.

The BDA provides educational resources, specialist training for teachers and employers, and leads nationwide awareness campaigns. It promotes early identification and tailored support to help every dyslexic person reach their full potential.

Its goal: to make dyslexia not a disability, but a recognized and valued difference.
