Romania focuses on food education in schools

As part of a program entitled “Healthy lifestyle, diversified diet and eco-responsible attitude”, 185,000 9-10 year-old pupils in 6,000 schools across the country are benefiting from activities aimed at improving their “food ecology”.

The campaign will run from October 2024 to June 2025:

  • An educational brochure, a sort of workbook of practical exercises to be carried out with the teacher in class, as well as homework to be done with parents at home.
  • “Taste lessons” workshops, also evoking the profession of cook, supported by the Sărbătoarea Gustului Association.
  • Lyonnais chef Alain Alexanian’s book “L’art de bien manger bio”, translated into Romanian, is distributed to all 6,000 schools.

The season will close on June 18, 2025 with a conference focusing on sustainable gastronomy.
