For Omar Abodib, cooking is also about caring for others. The son of a French mother and a Lebanese father, he was imbued with Lebanese culture and its values of hospitality: giving, sharing, receiving, nourishing people and offering a warm welcome. In 2018, he created Le Cèdre Hospitality, a hotel and restaurant group based in Normandy, his native region. In 2021, the Le Cèdre Solidarity endowment fund was created, with the aim of helping vulnerable populations in Lebanon, while contributing to the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of living things.

Le Cèdre Solidarity
The Le Cèdre Solidarity collective brings together hospitality professionals and committed citizens, united in their support for communities in Lebanon. Since its inception, it has worked closely with local associations well aware of the needs of the communities, as well as with French organizations active in Lebanon. Their values are based on respect, inclusiveness and tolerance towards people, as well as protection of the environment through virtuous practices. Le Cèdre Solidarity has already carried out two emergency operations (“Ensemble pour Beyrouth” and “Mon Cœur est au Liban“), and is now focusing on empowering people by promoting exchanges of experience between France and Lebanon.
